Catalogue of Cycladic Antiquities in the Ashmolean Museum , Oxford: The Captive Spirit|
By: Susan Sherratt
The Ashmolean's Cycladic collection was greatly enlarged between 1880 and 1938 by the gifts and acquistions of Revd Greville Chester and Sir Arthur Evans, to become one of the best collections outside of Greece. This two volume set provides a detailed catalogue of the collection with descriptions of many types of objects, many of which are illustrated: silver and lead objects, marble and stone vessels, shell objects, terracotta figurines and vessels, pottery.
